Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s professional losses could make their relationship stronger

“Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me” rang true after a somber Travis Kelce met Taylor Swift in his multimillion-dollar Super Bowl suite after the Chiefs devastating loss to the Eagles. The Kansas City Chiefs historic run up to a three peat was officially over and the cameras quickly cut from Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes to Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.

A few weeks ago, Taylor Swift handled her record 6 grammy categories loss with grace and class, as she cheered for each winner. Only 10 grammy nominated artists have gone home empty handed with 6 or more category nominations.

With both superstars losing professionally on a big level, they have commonality. Leading up to both of their losses, the “first couple of America” were riding high on not just positive public opinion, but they were dominating in their jobs. In a world of “women can’t have it all”, Taylor Swift appeared to have it all in the nearly 2 years that she was Travis Kelce’s girlfriend and vice versa.

As we all know, its hard to gauge who a person truly is, unless you see them during hard times. Taylor Swift was mercilessly booed during the Super Bowl while Travis Kelce reportedly helplessly watched from the field. Travis Kelce dropped 2 catches during the biggest game of his career. Taylor Swift who normally dominates the Grammy’s, went home empty handed. Slowly the glitz and the glam of the couple are fading from the outside looking in, and this may just be the start. Many hopes were dashed of Travis Kelce proposing to Taylor Swift after the Super Bowl loss, however many people were quick to chime in that both of them losing on a big stage is just what they need in their relationship right now.

Both have demanding careers that are taking a hiatus right about now, as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour ended in December, and football season is officially over for Travis Kelce. These two potentially have months to settle down and figure out what they want out of life, and if their future lives include each other. If Kelce and Swift have not found out what their partner is like after they take the biggest career hit of their lives, then they are both about to found out. Adversity breeds resilience if we allow it. Sooner or later, the world will find out just how resilient these two are, and my parlay is on a ring in the future.
